Exploration Excursion

Love to get out and about, no matter where in the world you are? I do too, and I find a fantastic way to do this, especially for those who aren’t so used to heading off on public transport in a foreign country, is to book several excursions.

Simple, cheap, and highly effective, excursions will slim down all the major attractions in the area into day trips, with the help of a knowledgeable guide. The same is true regardless of where you choose to book your next vacation be it in Thailand, England, Argentina or Costa Rica.

Of course, if there are several of you within the group, especially for families, then the cost of admission for all of you can be high, however saving money wherever possible before you jet off, will give you more to explore with. A good way to save a bit of cash, as well as cut down on stress levels is to avoid costly public transport, and drive yourself to the terminal building instead. If you’re able to do this, I’d highly recommend it. I have booked services all over the country, from the big airports in London right up to Edinburgh airport parking. The services have been great so I don’t see any reasons to change!  I usually use Park BCP, where I’ve always had a fantastic quote, and never had reason to complain. Check it out no matter where you’re flying from, don’t just take my word for it.

Those saved pounds can be put to good use when you’re thinking about the various days out you’d like to go on around your resort. It’s worth doing a bit of research before you leave, so you have an idea of what is available, and you don’t waste time whilst you’re away, deciding on where to go. Shop around, that’s probably the best advice to give you, and don’t jump straight away at the price your rep quotes you. This is generally the higher tariff, and you can often find the same, or very similar, trip at one of the street vendor offices on the main tourist roads. Haggle if you can, as you might find you get a discount for groups etc – if you don’t ask, you don’t get! I always tell them that the guy down the road offered the same trip to me for cheaper, and I usually end up getting a bit of the price knocked off!

Most of the large holiday resorts, even if they’re simple beach towns, have historic and cultural sites around them, and even if they don’t, a trip into the local countryside will be enough to show you the real way of life. This is a valuable insight into the area you’re visiting. Of course, you might be quite happy with a day out at a water-park or a boat trip around the coastline – the choice is yours, and it’s often a varied choice.

Do your research, haggle a little, and save where you can. Exploring your destination is something to behold.
